An abandoned waste oil tank was encountered during construction of a restaurant in Dallas, Texas. ProGEA was contacted by the client to remove the UST, sample for all appropriate parameters, and properly dispose of the UST, tank fluids, and affected soil. The tank pit was overexcavated, as field screening indicated residual contamination, and subsequent samples indicated no contaminants above State action levels. Affected soil was disposed of as a hazardous waste. The entire job was completed within 2 weeks of first client contact, thus allowing for timely continuation of construction. A complete UST removal report was filed with the TECQ.
